How to write a bloody good CV & cover letter
Learn the why's behind these tricks and tips:
short and sharp
no paparazzi please
Put effort into your cover letter
Make sure your cover letter relates to the role you are applying for. Give a bit of detail on who you are and what you are looking for and how this aligns with the company. Address the recruiter in your letter, it is a lot more meaningful and shows that you read the advert properly!
No more than 2-4 pages
Keep it short! Your CV should be 4 pages max, where you worked 20 years ago won’t be relevant to the role you’re applying for today. Recruiters love white space; make sure your CV is easy to read and delete the fluff!
No paparazzi please!
Delete your photo from your CV. Attaching a photo of yourself is the perfect opportunity for someone to have preconceptions about you. A recruiter cares about your skills and experience, not what you look like.
